Kathmandu: The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology reports that monsoon winds have a nationwide influence, with the monsoon low-pressure line located towards the north from its usual position. This is expected to result in generally cloudy weather throughout the country.
Light to moderate rainfall is currently occurring in several provinces, including Koshi, Madhes, Bagmati, Karnali, Sudurpaschim, Gandaki, and Lumbini. This afternoon, the country will experience generally cloudy conditions. Light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning is likely in many places within the Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces, while the Madhes province will see similar conditions in a few places. Heavy rainfall is anticipated at several locations within Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces. Additionally, torrential rain is expected at one or two places within Koshi, Sudurpaschim, Lumbini, and Karnali provinces.

Torrential rain is likely in one or two locations within Sudurpaschim province. The Department urges caution due to potential landslides and flooding risks in areas experiencing torrential rain.
In the last 24 hours, significant rainfall has been recorded in various locations: Kathmandu received 73 mm, Dharan recorded the highest with 104 mm, Okhaldhunga had 85 mm, Biratnagar 80 mm, Janakpur 74 mm, Jiri 46 mm, Pokhara 30 mm, Bhairahawa 26 mm, and both Pokhara and Simara recorded 21 mm.
